I-79 section closed after multi-vehicle collision
An ice storm brought treacherous conditions to Interstate 79 near Edinboro, resulting in a tumultuous situation just before noon on Friday. Due to the slippery roads, there was a multi-vehicle accident that sent cars off the road on the northbound ramp, leading to the closure of the southbound lane at the McKean exit. Multiple vehicles were involved in the incident, with one even ending up in the southbound lane. While some vehicles sustained significant damage, reports of injuries have surfaced. Despite the southbound lane reopening, Erie County 911 has labeled the road conditions as extremely dangerous and advises against unnecessary travel.
