I-70 near Blue Springs reopens after semi crash in construction area
The westbound lanes of Interstate 70 near Blue Springs in Kansas City, Missouri, were shut down for a few hours on Wednesday morning following a collision involving a tractor-trailer, as per the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The incident occurred just before 5 a.m. near Adams Dairy Parkway. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The crash caused a concrete barrier from a nearby construction zone to shift, obstructing the left lane of eastbound traffic. The highway patrol, in collaboration with the Missouri Department of Transportation, swiftly replaced the barrier. This area is part of the ongoing "Improve I-70" project. By midday Wednesday, MoDOT confirmed on social media that the roadway had been cleared and the I-70 lanes were back in operation.
