I-64 closed in Warrick County after crash with semi and INDOT vehicle
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) - At least two vehicles are involved in a crash on I-64 in Warrick County. Indiana State Police say a semi collided with an INDOT truck that was equipped with an arrow board and crash cushion. The INDOT truck was not occupied at the time. Dispatch says the wreck was reported at 10:42 a.m., and no injuries are known at this time,. INDOT notes the reason none of its employees were harmed is due to the safety equipment that was deployed at the time of the wreck. Dispatch says this is a property damage wreck, and they note that debris is everywhere. INDOT reports the wreck is located at I-64 westbound near the I-64/I-69 interchange in Warrick County. WCSO says both Westbound lanes are blocked with a long traffic back up. Officials note the road will be blocked for an extended time. The specific location of the wreck is eight miles to the west of the 41 interchange with I-64. No workers were injured in the crash. As for the semi driver, he was taken to the hospital to get checked out. Drivers are asked to seek an alternate route. WCSO notes traffic is backed up for three and a half miles. One lane of westbound traffic has since reopened.
