I-440 west near Glenwood Avenue closed due to crash in Raleigh: NCDOT
RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A crash in Raleigh Friday night has closed a section of Interstate 440, the North Carolina Department of Transportation said. According to NCDOT, the crash happened around 8:10 p.m. on I-440 west near Glenwood Avenue and mile marker 7. Due to the crash, according to NCDOT, the road is closed between Glenwood Avenue and Lake Boone Trail. Drivers are asked to either avoid the area, or for those already there, to follow the directions of personnel at the scene. As of 9:45 p.m., Raleigh police said the road is still closed and will not be open for a few hours. NCDOT estimates I-440 will reopen at around 1:12 a.m. Saturday CBS 17 has reached out to the Raleigh Police Department for more information. This is a developing story.
