I-15 southbound blocked after deadly rollover near Cove Fort
MILLARD COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — A fatal crash in Millard County is causing significant traffic delays. According to Utah Highway Patrol (UHP), the crash is a single vehicle rollover with multiple injured occupants and a fatality. The incident occurred near Cove Fort Thursday morning. Around 7:30 a.m. a Chevy suburban was traveling northbound on I-15 near mile marker 132. The vehicle veered to the right and overcorrected back to the left. Doing so caused the vehicle to spin into the median where it rolled and ejected two passengers. UHP confirmed the front seat passenger, an adult male, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The backseat adult male sustained moderate to serious injuries. He was transported by ambulance to the hospital. The driver, an adult male, was airlifted from the scene with critical injuries. He was the only occupant not ejected from the vehicle. When the vehicle came to rest, it blocked the southbound lanes. Northbound lanes are not affected. Traffic is being diverted to I-70. Drivers can turn and get back on I-15 southbound. Southbound lanes are estimated to be reopened around 11:30 a.m.
