Hundreds without power after a hit-and-run crash on Glenwood Avenue in north Raleigh, police say

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Police are searching for the driver who took out some power lines in a crash and caused a power outage for over 400 people early Tuesday morning in Raleigh. According to the Raleigh Police Department, the crash occurred around 3 a.m. on the 8400 block of Glenwood Avenue. A spokesperson said the driver took out some power lines in the crash before fleeing the scene. No reports by police of injuries or an arrest made at this time. According to Duke Energy, 490 customers are without power along Glenwood Avenue near the area of Umstead Park. Duke Energy expects power to be restored around 3 p.m. Tuesday, according to their power outage map.
