Howland man killed on I-95

On Saturday evening, state police responded to a fatal single-vehicle crash in the on I-95 in Edinburg, near mile marker 210. Upon reaching the scene, troopers and EMTs determined that the only occupant of the 2012 Honda Accord, Bruce Ireland, 61 of Howland, had died in the crash. The car came to rest in a wooded median area. The crash remains under investigation. Preliminary findings suggest that the crash was likely caused by high speed on wet roads. Ireland was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Traffic was reduced to one lane while the scene was cleared.
