Highway 36 eastbound lanes closed due to Lake Elmo accident
A crash investigation has led to the closure of the eastbound lanes of Highway 36 from Interstate 694 in Pine Springs to Demontreville Trail North in Lake Elmo. The incident, which occurred around 4:52 p.m. near the junction of Highway 36 and Highlands Trail North in Lake Elmo, involved a fatality believed to be a suicide by gunshot. No other vehicles or individuals were involved. The affected section of eastbound Highway 36 is anticipated to be closed until approximately 10:19 p.m. as per the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
