Highland Park crash leaves 2 people dead, 1 injured
HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. (WGN) — Two people were killed and another was injured in a crash Saturday afternoon in the northern suburbs, officials said. The crash happened just after 3 p.m. at the intersection of Park Avenue and Route 41 in Highland Park, according to city officials. Officials said a driver traveling northbound on Route 41 collided with a vehicle that was turning left from westbound Park Avenue onto southbound Route 41. Three people were taken to local hospitals. Two of them died from their injuries. The Highland Park Police Department and the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team responded to the scene and are investigating what led up to the crash.
