High school athletes struck by car in Southern California
A car hit several pedestrians in Anaheim on Wednesday afternoon, injuring eight people, including multiple high school track and field runners. The incident took place at Harbor Boulevard and North Street around 3:30 p.m., according to officials. City of Anaheim spokesperson Mike Lyster reported that nine individuals were injured, including the driver. Among the seven others hurt, at least some are runners for Anaheim High School, with one in critical condition. The male driver was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. His identity has not been disclosed.
