GWB traffic severely backed up due to morning crash
Traffic is experiencing significant delays at the George Washington Bridge due to a morning crash on the inbound upper level. The incident involved a two-lane closure and a stalled tractor-trailer, causing delays of up to an hour for commuters. Although the situation has now been resolved, drivers are advised to seek alternative routes such as the Holland or Lincoln tunnels for Hudson River crossings, and for trucks to travel north towards the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge. These delays are occurring on the first Gridlock Alert Day of the month, which also coincides with the annual Rockefeller Center tree lighting event.
