Greenville officer involved in crash on I-385

A Greenville police officer was involved in a crash on I-385 northbound Thursday morning, according to Greenville police. The crash happened near the Bridges Road exit (mile marker 33). At one time, all lanes in the area were blocked. Police said the officer was on his way to work in an unmarked patrol car. They said he was taken to the hospital to be evaulated and is expected to be okay. Troopers said the crash involved four vehicles with one being a Greenville city patrol SUV.All vehicles were going northbound. They said the patrol SUV was driving too fast for conditions and hit a vehicle in the back, which caused that vehicle to hit another vehicle. The impact caused one of the vehicles that was hit to hit another vehicle. Two of the drivers, including the officer, were taken to the hospital. The officer was also ticketed for driving too fast for conditions.
