Greensboro police vehicle involved in crash on East Cone Boulevard, police department says; 3 hurt
GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) -- A car crash involving a Greensboro Police Department vehicle injured three people early Sunday morning. According to the police department, around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, an officer in a marked GPD vehicle was responding to assist another officer. When the officer crossed the intersection of East Cone Boulevard and North O'Henry Boulevard, the SUV struck another vehicle that had been turning left. The officer and two occupants of the other vehicle were taken to the hospital. At the request of GPD, High Point Police Department's traffic unit is conducting the crash investigation. The GPD Professional Standards Division will also be conducting an internal investigation to ensure department policies were being followed, and the officer involved is currently on administrative duty.
