Good Samaritan aids storm trackers after rollover accident
HAMMON, Okla. (KFOR) — The Good Samaritan who called for help after a 4 Warn Storm Tracker and his chase partner were involved in a rollover accident on Thursday night near Hammon. "The fact that all three of them walked out of that is just astonishing," said Shelby Fisher, the woman who called 911 moments after the accident. Fisher says she pulled over and took cover at a car wash while the storm passed. "It was just within moments, the wind picked up tremendously. It started hailing, and once everything kind of calmed down, I drove forward about two feet, this random piece of hail hit my car. So, I went back in, reversed, and I sat there for about 30 seconds," Fisher said. It was that decision that put her just minutes behind a rollover accident involving News 4 storm tracker Conner Tune and his chase partner, Blaize Edwards. Another driver reportedly ran a stop sign and t-boned them. Fisher was the first person there. "I didn't even realize that there were two vehicles because the storm chaser's truck, all I could see was the underneath," Fisher said. Another driver stopped to help shortly after Fisher called 911. "Your storm chasers were pinned in. That driver that turned around, and we just went into action. He jumped on top of the truck, opened the door, got Blaize out first," Fisher said. "Emergency crews started coming up, and some semi drivers had kind of blocked the highway to stop traffic from coming through. At that point. And Connor came out of the truck, and he was just holding his chest," she added. The driver of the other vehicle and both storm trackers were taken to the hospital. Although they were injured, they are all expected to recover.
