Girl killed, man injured in Sacramento hit-and-run crash
A girl died and a man was injured following a hit-and-run crash in the Oak Park area on Thursday night, according to police. The Sacramento Police Department said officers responded to reports of a hit-and-run crash before 8 p.m. in the area of 36th Street and 19th Avenue. Police said the collision involved a vehicle and a minibike. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 9-year-old girl and a man in the area. They were taken to the hospital where the girl was later pronounced dead. The man did sustain serious injuries, but is expected to survive. Police said the vehicle fled the scene before officials arrived. The crash has prompted road closures on 36th Street and 19th Avenue. Anyone with information on the crash is urged to contact the police department. The crash remains under investigation.
