Gas leak detected following Montebello collision
In Montebello, a collision on Saturday morning led to a gas leak, according to authorities. A notification sent out shortly before noon on Saturday reported that a traffic incident had taken place on Greenwood Avenue. The collision resulted in a gas meter being damaged. As a result, the gas company was unable to shut it off and had to send a team to excavate the pipe from the ground. The area between Date and Oakwood streets on Greenwood Avenue was closed for investigation and cleanup for around two hours. Authorities mentioned to KTLA that a few nearby apartment buildings were evacuated.
