Franklin County rollover crash leaves 81-year-old driver dead, troopers say

An 81-year-old died after a rollover crash in Franklin County on Wednesday, according to Pennsylvania State Police. Video above: Headlines from WGAL News 8 Today. The two-vehicle collision happened in the 200 block of Franklin Farm Road in Guilford Township at 2:06 p.m. Troopers said Jayne Lorah, 81, of Chambersburg, was operating a Kia Spectra and proceeding out of a parking lot before the crash. A woman driving a Ford Escape was approaching Franklin Farm Road when her vehicle left the roadway, traveled along a grassy embankment, struck a PennDOT sign and then crashed into the Kia, according to police. Police said the impact caused both vehicles to overturn and land on their roofs. Lorah was unresponsive when emergency crews pulled her from the Kia, according to troopers. Police said she was taken to a hospital, where she later died. The driver of the Ford was also taken to the hospital with suspected minor injuries, according to investigators.
