Four injured in multi-car accident on I-95 South in Harford County

A multi-vehicle crash occurred on Interstate 95 South in Harford County involving a jackknifed tractor-trailer, which resulted in the hospitalization of four individuals. The incident was reported by Maryland state police at around 10:23 a.m. on Tuesday. Emergency responders, including Abingdon Fire crews, were quick to assist at the scene near Exit 77A, where photos were shared showing the truck jackknifed near a median and another damaged car nearby. Although southbound lanes of I-95 at MD-24 were closed briefly, they were reopened as of 1:45 p.m. The crash followed winter weather conditions in Maryland which caused school closures and delays, particularly in Harford County due to icy roads. The state experienced a mix of sleet and snow that transitioned into rain, with lingering cold air leading to the risk of icy roads in parts of Frederick and Harford counties. The First Alert Weather Team predicts continued rainy and chilly weather across Maryland throughout Tuesday afternoon.
