Five people hurt in two-car accident on Route 23 in unincorporated Marengo: officials
According to officials, a crash on Route 23 in unincorporated Marengo, Illinois on Sunday left five individuals injured. The Marengo Fire & Rescue team headed to the intersection of N. Route 23 and River Road following reports of the accident at approximately 10:19 a.m. Upon arrival, responders discovered a vehicle in the road and another in a ditch tangled in utility pole wires. The five adults involved sustained minor injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals for evaluation. Route 23 was shut down in both directions for about an hour due to the incident, with the McHenry County Sheriff's Office conducting an investigation.
