Father and 2 children die in Robstown accident
A tragic accident occurred on Thursday night near Robstown where a father and two of his children lost their lives as a result of a collision at a rural intersection. The incident took place when a 2019 Ford Ranger ran a stop sign at the intersection of County Road 77 and County Road 36, striking a 2005 Buick Rendezvous driven by 35-year-old Randy Rubio, who was pronounced dead at the scene. One child passed away the following morning, and another child succumbed to injuries a few days later. A third child, aged 5, sustained critical injuries and was taken to Driscoll Children's Hospital. The driver of the Ford Ranger was also critically injured and taken to a nearby hospital. The crash is currently being investigated by troopers from the Highway Patrol Office in Corpus Christi.
