Fatal vehicle crash claims life of pedestrian in Yolo County
(FOX40.COM) — One person is dead after a vehicle crash incident occurred in Yolo County on Saturday night, according to the California Highway Patrol, Woodland Division. According to CHP, the crash happened around 8:43 p.m. on Highway County Road 99 West North of CR-12, when a driver in a Dodge pickup truck was traveling south and struck a pedestrian. CHP reported the victim died at the scene from its injuries. At this time, CHP said the Yolo County Coroner's Office will release the identity of the deceased after the next of kin have been notified. CHP stated DUI does not appear to be a factor; however, the investigation remains active.
