Fatal U-turn crash claims life of 77-year-old passenger
In Madera County, California, a tragic accident occurred when a 22-year-old driver attempted a U-turn on Highway 145, resulting in a collision that led to the death of a 77-year-old female passenger. The incident took place just before 10:30 p.m., and emergency responders arrived at the scene to find a two-vehicle crash. The driver of a 22-year-old woman in a Volkswagen Jetta was attempting to make a U-turn from the right shoulder to proceed eastbound on Highway 145. However, she failed to see an approaching 62-year-old man in a 2022 Volkswagen Taos, resulting in a collision between the two vehicles. The crash left all involved parties with moderate to severe injuries, and sadly, the 77-year-old woman later succumbed to her injuries. The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
