Fatal pile-up shuts down I-40 in Putnam County: THP
One individual has been confirmed deceased as a result of a multiple-vehicle collision on Tuesday morning in Putnam County, Tennessee. The incident occurred close to 5:45 a.m. on I-40 West near mile marker 277, not far from exit 280 in Baxter. The Tennessee Highway Patrol indicated that two commercial vehicles, an empty tour bus, and a car were involved in the crash. The other individuals injured have been transported to the hospital for treatment. As of 9 a.m. Tuesday, authorities reported that all lanes heading westward on the highway remained closed.
