Fatal paddleboard incident claims life of 55-year-old at Joe Pool Lake
At around 4:13 p.m., the Grand Prairie Fire Department was called to Joe Pool Lake for a possible drowning incident. A witness saw a man fall off a paddleboard and not come back up. The Grand Prairie Public Safety Dive Team searched and found the body of a 55-year-old man who was not wearing a life vest. The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office will identify the deceased. As the lake season progresses, the GPFD urges everyone to wear a life jacket or suitable flotation device when in or near the water.
