Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 80 in Berkeley
A fatal motorcycle crash occurred on Sunday afternoon on Interstate 80 in Berkeley, resulting in lane closures in the area. The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene near University Avenue around 3 p.m. after a motorcycle collided with an Acura TSX and a Honda Accord. Tragically, the motorcyclist lost their life in the accident. The other drivers involved stayed at the scene and are assisting with the investigation. The CHP stated that there is no suspicion of DUI at this point. Both eastbound and westbound lanes of I-80 remained closed for an extended period following the incident.
