Fatal Milwaukee motorcycle crash shuts down eastbound I-794 lanes
A motorcyclist died Monday night after a crash on I-794 near the Lake Interchange, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office.Sheriff’s officials said calls began coming into the Milwaukee County 911 Dispatch Center around 7:45 p.m. reporting a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on westbound-to-southbound I-794 near the interchange.FREE DOWNLOAD: Get breaking news alerts in the FOX LOCAL Mobile app for iOS or AndroidAccording to witness reports, the motorcycle struck the wall and toppled on the freeway. Investigators said the rider went over the wall and landed in a parking lot below, where he later died from his injuries.The crash shut down all eastbound lanes of I-794 at Van Buren Street for about two hours Monday night.
