Fatal I-290 accident closes lanes in western Chicago suburbs, according to ISP.
A fatal collision involving two vehicles resulted in the closure of all westbound lanes on the Eisenhower Expressway in the western suburbs near Oak Park early Sunday morning. Illinois State Police responded to the incident, which occurred before 3 a.m. near Home Avenue. The crash involved a Jeep and a Saturn, resulting in one fatality and another occupant being transported to a local hospital with an unspecified injury. The westbound lanes were reopened by 9:35 a.m. following the investigation by ISP.
