Fatal hit-and-run crash claims motorcyclist in Las Vegas

A tragic incident occurred in the southeast Las Vegas valley early Saturday morning, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist in a hit-and-run crash. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported that at around 3:40 a.m., a collision took place near East Tropicana Avenue and Mountain Vista Street. It involved a 2007 Yamaha R6 motorcycle traveling west on Tropicana and a 2018 Chevrolet pickup making a left turn to northbound Mountain Vista. Regrettably, the driver of the Chevrolet failed to yield the right of way which led to the motorcycle colliding with the truck's right side, ejecting the rider upon impact. Tragically, despite efforts from emergency responders, the 45-year-old motorcyclist succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The driver of the pickup fled the scene without stopping, prompting a request from LVMPD for information or tips from the public. Witnesses or anyone with knowledge about the incident are encouraged to contact detectives at (702) 828-3595. Anonymous tips can also be shared with Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
