Fatal Helicopter Crash in Locust Grove
A helicopter pilot contracted by the Grand River Dam Authority tragically passed away on Nov. 5 after his aircraft crashed in Mayes County amidst foggy weather conditions. The pilot, identified as Emanuele Tsikoudakis, 56, from Idaho Falls, Idaho, was overseeing workers on the ground who were managing power lines. Witnesses at an industrial park nearby alerted emergency services, prompting responses from various teams. Despite the dense fog at the time, it is uncertain whether the weather played a role in the accident, and investigations by the FAA and NTSB are underway. The crash site has since been secured by troopers.
