Fatal head-on collision near Fresno claims 2 lives, according to CHP
There was a tragic incident in Friant, California, where two individuals lost their lives in a head-on collision early Friday morning. The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash at Auberry Road and Summit Mountain Road around 11:30 a.m. A 21-year-old driving a Dodge Durango veered into oncoming traffic on Auberry Road, colliding with a Kia Soul carrying a man and a woman believed to be in their 60s or early 70s, resulting in their tragic deaths at the scene. The young driver stayed at the site and is cooperating with authorities. Road closures are in effect during the investigation, with the identities of the deceased pending official release.
