Fatal head-on collision in southeastern Kansas
A tragic incident occurred on Monday on U.S. Highway 169 near Wichita. A 58-year-old woman from Chanute lost her life when her Ford F-150 crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a GMC Sierra driven by a 19-year-old man from Iola. The woman, identified as Jerri Linn Francis, passed away at the scene, while the young man sustained serious injuries and was taken to Wesley Medical Center. Both drivers were reported to have been wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol report.
