Fatal crash under investigation in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts
One person died Thursday in a crash on Route 20 in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.Police were called just before 2 p.m. to the area of 727 Hartford Turnpike, which is also Route 20. Upon arrival, officers discovered a crash involving a Hyundai Elantra and a Mercedes sport utility vehicle. The driver of the Hyundai was taken to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead. The driver of the Mercedes suffered minor injuries. Video from Sky5 showed a dark gray sedan and a silver SUV at the scene of the crash with extensive damage to the front of both vehicles. Debris was scattered across the roadway as nearby investigative crews photographed the scene.Hartford Turnpike was closed for several hours between South Street and Centech Boulevard due to the crash.The victim's name has not been released.
