Fatal crash under investigation in Riverside after motorcycle collision
A Riverside man has died after a crash involving a motorcycle and commercial truck in Platte County on Wednesday morning. The crash happened around 9 a.m. on April 22 on Northwest Mattox Road, just north of Northwest 43rd Street in Riverside. The Platte County Sheriff's Office took over the investigation due to the severity of the crash.Michael Wolcott, 35, was identified as the man killed in the crash. The sheriff's office says the motorcycle driven by Wolcott was heading southbound at a "high rate of speed" when he tried to pass a truck that was turning left into a nearby business. The motorcycle collided with the front of the truck, then continued off the roadway before striking a utility pole. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured.
