Fatal Crash on US 31 Near Argos Leaves Niles Man Dead and Passenger Injured

A 57-year-old man from Niles, Michigan tragically lost his life on the morning of December 6th when his vehicle collided with a semi-truck at the intersection of U.S. 31 and State Road 10. The man, identified as Christopher J. Jankoviak, was declared dead at the scene by Marshall County Deputy Coroner John Lampkins. Reports from the Marshall County Coroner's Office indicate that Jankoviak was driving a Chevy Equinox westbound on State Road 10 when it was hit by a northbound semi-tractor-trailer on U.S. 31. A passenger in Jankoviak's vehicle was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend, with no immediate update on their condition. The Marshall County Sheriff's Office is conducting an investigation into the incident and will provide further details regarding the accident and the semi-truck driver involved.
