Fatal crash on US 301 involving a Tesla and a pickup truck in North Carolina
A tragic accident occurred on U.S. 301 near Hodges Chapel Road in Harnett County, resulting in the death of a Benson man on his birthday. The collision involved a green Tesla and a red Dodge Ram pickup truck, with the Tesla driver crossing the center line and crashing into the pickup truck. Unfortunately, a passenger in the truck, Danny Wood, 73, lost his life in the incident. The driver of the truck sustained injuries and was hospitalized, while the occupants of the Tesla, including two small children, also suffered injuries but are expected to recover. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is conducting a thorough investigation and plans to analyze data from the Tesla. At this time, no charges have been filed. The road in the area remained closed following the accident.
