Fatal crash on Stringfellow Road claims life of Bokeelia man: FHP
A 64-year-old man from Bokeelia tragically lost his life in a rollover accident on Pine Island, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol. The incident occurred Friday night when the man attempted to overtake a slower vehicle while driving south on Stringfellow Road near Avalon Lane. His white pickup truck collided with a maroon SUV traveling in the opposite direction, resulting in serious injuries for the 65-year-old female driver of the SUV, who was taken to the hospital. The man was declared deceased upon arrival at the hospital. The crash is currently being investigated by the FHP, and the affected lanes were closed for a number of hours. The Lee County Sheriff's Office advised residents to steer clear of the area and proceed with caution.
