Fatal crash on Poinciana Blvd in Kissimmee
A fatal collision in Kissimmee is currently being looked into after one woman was killed and three others were hurt in the early hours of Thursday. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the incident occurred at the Woodmont Boulevard and Poinciana Boulevard intersection shortly after midnight. Apparently, a 24-year-old woman, behind the wheel of a 2024 Kia Forte, was stopped at a stop sign facing east on Woodmont Boulevard. Allegedly, she failed to yield at the stop sign when trying to cross Poinciana Boulevard and ended up in the path of a southbound 2011 Honda Accord. As a result, the front of the Honda collided with the left side of the Kia. The Kia's driver and a passenger, both 24-year-old women from Kissimmee, sustained serious injuries and were taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center, while the rear passenger, a 55-year-old woman, tragically passed away at the hospital. Additionally, the Honda's driver, a 39-year-old man, was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The crash is currently under investigation.
