Fatal crash on N.J. Turnpike in East Windsor Township results in 3 deaths; Philadelphia man injured, state police report

A tragic incident on the New Jersey Turnpike Sunday afternoon resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including a minor. According to authorities, a Philadelphia man driving a tractor-trailer collided with an SUV in East Windsor Township, Mercer County. The SUV belonged to Elin R. Waithe and Quacy Waithe of Bloomfield, Essex County. The crash occurred at milepost 64.6 when the tractor-trailer, operated by Dmitriy I. Kara, veered onto the shoulder and struck the parked GMC SUV. Kara sustained minor injuries and was hospitalized, while Elin Waithe, Quacy Waithe, and a minor in the SUV tragically lost their lives. The New Jersey State Police are currently investigating the incident.
