Fatal crash on I-95 in Howard County leads to driver's death and injuries.
One person has been confirmed deceased, and another has sustained injuries following a collision that led to the closure of Interstate 95 in Howard County on Monday morning. Maryland State Police reported that the accident took place on I-95 South near Route 100 in Elkridge at approximately 5:30 a.m. At present, two southbound lanes are accessible, and all northbound lanes have been reopened, per the Maryland State Highway Administration. Authorities mentioned that a dump truck driver collided with the rear of a parked tractor-trailer on I-95. The dump truck driver unfortunately passed away at the scene, while the tractor-trailer driver was airlifted to a nearby medical facility. The incident resulted in the temporary shutdown of I-95 in both directions until approximately 7:30 a.m. The police have confirmed that investigations into the matter are ongoing.
