Fatal crash on I-225 in Aurora on Friday evening
A deadly three-vehicle collision on Interstate 225 in Aurora, Colorado, left one person dead. The crash occurred in the northbound lanes just past the E. Colfax Avenue exit. According to the Aurora Police Department, the incident was reported around 6 p.m. on Friday. Initial investigations by the APD revealed that a work van crashed into a Ford SUV, which then collided with an Infiniti SUV. Unfortunately, the individual in the work van succumbed to their injuries after being taken to the hospital. Another person from the Ford was hospitalized with minor injuries, while the Infiniti driver was unharmed. The crash occurred at speeds below the typical highway limit. The highway was temporarily shut down, with limited access until 9 p.m. due to ongoing investigations. Traffic congestion was reported from E. Colfax Avenue extending northward.
