Fatal crash on Florida road kills 4 on New Year's Day: FHP
Four individuals lost their lives in an early morning collision announced by the Florida Highway Patrol in Collier County, Florida. The fatal crash occurred when a Kia Forte driven by a 30-year-old woman from Immokalee crossed into the westbound lane to overtake a Kia Sedona driven by a 41-year-old man from Naples. Tragically, the front of the Kia Forte collided head-on with a Subaru Ascent traveling in the opposite direction on State Road 82. The driver of the Kia Forte was declared dead at the scene, along with the driver and a passenger in the Subaru Ascent, both residents of Fort Myers. Additionally, an 85-year-old woman from Fort Myers, who was also a passenger in the Ascent, later succumbed to her injuries at a nearby hospital. Two other passengers in the Ascent sustained serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital. Thankfully, the driver of the Kia Sedona was unharmed in the incident.
