Fatal crash near Griffith Park injures five early Sunday.
A tragic accident early Sunday morning on the northbound 5 Freeway near Griffith Park resulted in the death of a 25-year-old man and injuries to five others, according to officials. The California Highway Patrol was alerted to the five-car crash around 3:18 a.m. at the Los Feliz Boulevard off-ramp. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene after being thrown from his vehicle, as reported by the Los Angeles Fire Department. Others involved, including a 61-year-old man, 35-year-old man, two 22-year-old men, and a 28-year-old man, were hospitalized with varying degrees of injuries. Officer John Trejos of the CHP mentioned that the cause of the crash is currently being investigated, and parts of the northbound 5 Freeway at Los Feliz Boulevard remained closed mid-morning following the incident.
