Fatal crash injures Edinburg man, claims life of McAllen man

A tragic accident occurred near Alice, Texas, resulting in the death of a man from McAllen and injuries to another man from Edinburg. The Texas Department of Public Safety in Corpus Christi shared that on Saturday, November 29, at around 12:45 p.m., DPS Troopers were called to a multi-vehicle crash on US-281 Northbound outside Alice, Texas. The incident involved a 1999 Toyota Solara driven by Lee Roy Rodriguez from McAllen. The Toyota Solara was reported for reckless driving and failing to maintain a single lane. Troopers responded as the crash unfolded, involving the Solara rear-ending a 2019 Kenworth Truck Tractor towing a semi-trailer before crossing the median into oncoming traffic where it collided with a 2019 GMC Sierra. Rodriguez tragically passed away at the scene, while the driver of the Sierra, identified as Brian Cisneros from Edinburg, sustained injuries and was taken to a hospital. Thankfully, the driver and passengers of the truck tractor were unharmed. Cisneros' current condition is not known at this time.
