Fatal crash in Wright County results in 2 deaths and leaves 1 woman critically injured
A tragic collision occurred in Rockford Township, Wright County, resulting in the loss of two lives and injuries for two others. The incident took place early in the morning on Highway 55 near County Road 33. A Chevy Equinox and a GMC Acadia collided head-on, causing both vehicles to roll into the north ditch. Shawn Aaron Slaven, 50, of Plymouth, the GMC driver, and Mindimoie Monik Diggines, 20, of St. Paul, the Equinox driver, tragically lost their lives in the crash. An 18-year-old woman from the Equinox sustained life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized, while another 18-year-old woman also from the Equinox was injured but is expected to recover.
