Fatal crash in rural El Dorado County on Highway 193
A man was killed in a collision off of State Route 193 in the early hours of last Friday, as reported by authorities. The California Highway Patrol stated that the incident occurred earlier that morning just to the west of Longview Lane, although they were not notified until about 7:30 a.m. Emergency personnel discovered that an older pickup truck pulling a small utility trailer had veered off the right side of the road and collided with trees. The truck had only one occupant, the man who tragically lost his life in the accident. The circumstances leading up to the crash are currently being investigated. The man was not using a seatbelt at the time, as noted by CHP. The identity of the deceased individual has not been disclosed by authorities. The crash site is approximately 20 miles north of Placerville.
