Fatal crash in Kiowa County leaves one dead
KIOWA COUNTY, Okla (KFDX/KJTL) — An early morning crash in Kiowa County has left one person dead. 41-year-old Verlin Beede from Snyder, Oklahoma, was pronounced deceased at the scene of a crash in Kiowa County. At 6:47 a.m. on Monday, February 9, Beede was traveling north on US.63B, about 0.3 miles south of County Road N/S 2270. According to a preliminary investigation, the vehicle left the roadway on the left side and struck the embankment of a private drive. After impact, the vehicle vaulted from the embankment, was airborne for about 102 feet, rotated counterclockwise and landed on its passenger side wheels. The vehicle rolled onto its passenger side, then rolled back on all four wheels, facing west, before coming to a complete stop. Beede's next of kin has been notified.
