Fatal crash in Grayslake injures elderly woman, teenage victim
A young person lost their life and an elderly individual was injured in a car accident that occurred on Monday afternoon in Grayslake, a far north suburb. According to the police, the incident took place at approximately 2:15 p.m. when a black Volkswagen traveling east on Washington Street collided with a Toyota SUV traveling west on Washington and attempting to make a southbound turn onto Atkinson Road. Following the collision, the Volkswagen struck a traffic light pole. Both drivers were transported to hospitals, where the 19-year-old male driver of the Volkswagen was pronounced dead at Advocate Condell Medical Center. The 86-year-old female driver of the Toyota sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities were investigating the cause of the crash as of Monday evening.
