Fatal crash in Denton County claims lives of 2 Frisco Triathlon Club members

The North Texas cycling community is in mourning following a tragic accident that took the lives of two cyclists in Denton County over the weekend. Friends are remembering the victims and calling for increased caution from drivers on the roads. The cyclists were struck and killed on FM 455 East, and emergency crews responded to the scene. Despite efforts to help, both cyclists succumbed to their injuries after being taken to nearby hospitals. A close friend of the victims, Tommy Johnson, expressed shock and sorrow over the loss, emphasizing the risks cyclists face despite taking safety measures like using lights and radar devices. Johnson urged drivers to slow down and give cyclists room on the roads, emphasizing that a little patience could prevent future tragedies. The Frisco Triathlon Club plans to hold a Santa Run on Christmas Eve to honor the memory of the cyclists and celebrate their contributions to the cycling community.
