Fatal Crash on Highway 126, Near Pyle Road, Ventura County VENTURA, Calif., (Feb. 16, 2026) — A fatal crash in Fillmore on Monday involved a white work truck and a black Tesla on Highway 126 near Pyle Road. The incident occurred at approximately 9:03 a.m., in the westbound lanes of Highway 126. Emergency responders arrived to find debris scattered across the roadway and both vehicles severely damaged. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) initially classified the incident as involving unknown injuries but later confirmed a fatality at the scene. The Ventura County Fire Department requested a heavy wrecker to assist in clearing the vehicles from the roadway, and a helicopter was called to the scene for emergency response coordination. The Tesla was taken as evidence with the assistance of Platinum Tow Transport, while the work truck was not kept as evidence. Authorities have confirmed the involvement of one fatality and are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
