Fatal crash closes section of outbound Eisenhower Expressway
Illinois State Police and the Medical Examiner's Office have reported that a tragic single-vehicle accident resulted in the deaths of three individuals on the outbound Eisenhower Expressway in Itasca. The victims have not been publicly identified, but it was disclosed that at least one child was among those who lost their lives. The incident occurred late at night, when the vehicle veered out of control, overturned, struck a bridge support, and caught fire. The crash led to the temporary closure of all lanes on the westbound I-290, with traffic redirected onto Lake Street/outbound I-355. Police reopened all lanes early Thursday morning after concluding their investigation.
